It's tuesday... and I'm posting the part 2 of this, wow.

Well on a better note, I ordered 4 new gyaru magazines that will hopefully come in January (although i'm not sure about getting all 4 but that's not for you to know) so maybe more scanning will come. Today it took me around an hour to scan 30 pages, last time it took me 2 hours to scan 24 so.... 😂 but I thought I may as well post this today bc the next time I'll have the luxury of using my printer without people bothering me will be next week tuesday, so pls enjoy part 2 of these scans, a little not but they may look slightly choppy/sharpened towards the end, I can't do anything about that, it's actually the way the magazine looks in person.

Today is the start of Mackerelgyaru's 1yr anniversary project.

Now I said in my blogpost.... maybe like 3 blog posts ago that I ain't Gal Revo so do not count on my scanning abilities to be as good as them, well not to brag or anything, but I spent 3 weeks in the mountains training in the art of digital magazine scanning and with my hard work I have presented my creation, the EGG Spring 2024 volume!

OK, just kidding this took me like 30 minutes to learn. In all honesty, the next time you see Gal Revo post a magazine pls go say all your thank yous because how the actual fuck do they do this consistently? I scanned like 10 pages not realising I didn't have the highest DPI and was scanning on the DOCUMENT setting and not the PHOTO settings.... seriously it looked like SHITE.

I've only scanned 24 pages because my printer is absolute poop so..... lol, I will post the next round at some point next week pls bully me into posting it as well or else I never will, but this serious should and most likely will end on December 12th which is the exact anniversary of my first Blog post, but enough of me babbling.

Ok one more thing to say, the magazine is presented in the way you would physically read it, read it from the right page to the left page, I couldn't scan it in full because my printer is also, too small.

Time of writing is 4:28, I've been waiting for this song to drop for nearly 12 hours (ish) because despite the fact I called this song bad, I am actually very excited to listen to this song. Now, as I am writing this intro, I haven't listened to the song, nor have I even watched the music video, so I am truly excited to see if EGG is truly gonna make me eat my words, so. Let the honest review begin.... now!

I haven't actually ever delved too deep into criticising EGG magazine as a whole because that's far too big of a topic to tackle in a single blog post.

Personally I don't see the point in 2 part blog posts since this isn't a youtube channel and I have no intentions of creating one, but I do have the perfect opportunity to explain why I am very sort of annoyed at EGG currently. And I know.... 2 blog posts in one month, lmfao.

Why hello, for some reason I can't seem to produce a blog post that doesn't require me to be chronically unemployed, but I am sorta chronically unemployed which is why I could make this.

I actually wanted to do this with EGG but i'm currently pissed at EGG and someone already kinda did that, but I don't think i've seen anyone do this for popteen so I took it upon my unemployed self to do this, this shit was hard, I will put all of these onto a google drive folder, tbh some of the scans aren't good quality (bc i'm not gal revo or chogongal) and I still cannot find the january 1999 volume so that one is not there, but I got every volume after that. So please enjoy, because I put a stupid amount of effort into this because I decided to scan almost every image via an online scanner. The quality gets better as the year increases so the older ones will look like shit and the newer ones will look all nice and pretty.

Sacrificed for Fame - The depravity of Kogyaru Magazine

So hello, wait is this a repost? Didn't you already do a deep dive into Kogyaru? Yes I did, and It was called 'a deep dive into Kogyaru' but this is an even deeper dive, as recently, I realised my criticism and my own research was truly surface level, and that Kogyaru and not just Kogyaru itself, but the parents of these models are truly engaging in some deranged activities.

I attempted to write this blog post many times but I found myself looking like next level hater, and I felt a lot of my criticisms fell to the waste-side due to the fact I was loosing my shit saying how much I rlly hated KOGYARU, so today, I will be calm, composed and demure.

And I don't usually preface this during the intro, but this is no negativity towards the Kogyaru models themselves, those are children, and I believe these children are being used, and I will explain the ways I believe this in said post. I also want to point out before you read this, these are all my theories and opinions, mixed in with some facts.

ちゃおっす It's Spacy!..... The one thing I haven't talked about yet is hair and make, so today we are gonna change that by doing a dive into morigami/sujimori hair in the gyaru scene!

Recently i hit 700 followers so this is my thank you for 700 followers. On Thursday I was talking to my therapist and I told her I had felt like I wasted my summer holiday by not doing anything productive, so she told me to do things I like but not force myself to complete it, so despite this ramble, would it shock u to say im forcing myself to do this? Not in a bad way, but I'm actually motivated, so I will try be more motivated and not wait for a divine spark to remind me what I love doing

Reiwa Gyaru trends & styles, what trends do gyaru in Reiwa era love?

Finally back to talking ab gyaru it's been forever (for me) but idk I just tweeted happy july and gained almost 30 followers and got almost 1000 likes across 2 posts talking ab gyaru so thank you random hit tweet for pushing my lazy arse back into blogging. And maybe I would blog more frequently if ADSENSE MONITISED MY BLOGGGGG but you didn't need to know that.

In the year 2024, the label gyaru is diverse, gyaru being a label that has stood the test of time for over 3 decades, from the early Heisei era of kogals, Namie and platform shoes, to the 2000s with the ayu boom, cheetah print, ageha boom, agejo and blah di blah, gyaru is a subculture people have participated in for decades, but what about.... this decade. What about Reiwa? we know what trended back then, but what is trendy now? What trends define the Reiwa era of gyaru?

Why do some gals reject the concept of shiro gyaru?

   ちゃおっす It's Spacy! Spacygirl where have you been? I know I know it's been a month+ of complete silence on this blog. So before this blog post begins, let me talk about where i've been, time to be honest and open.

I've been struggling a lot lately trying to balance school work and my own mental health meaning i've put blogging to the side, I also have my big project coming up so i've decided to make a comeback before then, but why? I've been way too busy with school to pick myself back together to write a blog post, so now my work load is lighter I decided to write a short blog post to get myself back into the spirit.

Thank you for reading, weird to drop before the actual post starts but I just wanted to show some appreciation to the people who'll come back and read my blog posts even tho I've only uploaded a few times in the past 3 months.

Recently I saw a viral video of Heisei gyarus talking about their love and admiration for Heisei gals of the late 90s/ early 2000s which is the peak of gyaru. Today I decided to make a very impulsive decision and spend £9.08 buying the LOALO kindle photobook on Amazon. I've always held my reservations about LOALO as a magazine. I did mention in my EGG going global blogpost ' LOALO sells their magazines on amazon that can be read digitally for around 1500yen or £8, which would be a good deal....if it wasn't LOALO' but was it truly just a snide remark or is LOALO just a poor quality magazine? On Episode 5 of magazine discussions, I am going to not only discuss LOALO, including its history, models, demographics and goals, but also discuss whether its worth spending money for their photobook.
