SOUL SISTER IS BACK!? - The possible return of Japan's Ultimate Ora ora gal mag!

 ゃおっす It's Spacy! I usually don't post news and gossip but the second I saw this, I new I had to act! (a day late but i still wanted to act)

So the story starts when  I wake up at 1pm and start scrolling through Gal Revo on instagram, and I come across an instagram story they reposted and the first words you see in bold are 'SOUL SISTER' with the iconic soul sister model Hozunyam as the advertising model. This is when you know shits about to get good.

The instagram reel states soul sister is recruiting models, which hints to the return of Soul sister magazine, a gyaru magazine or as I like to call it, the sukeban gal bible.

But Spacy why do you say 'possibly when they're literally auditioning for models' well thank you for asking that question because it doesn't actually mean soul sister is returning as its own magazine.

Soul Japan which is soul sisters older brother magazine made it's comeback in 2023 and seemingly absorbed soul sister to simply become one ultimate ora ora magazine, so basically, both souls became one to become just soul japan. This means that there's a possibility they're recruiting female models for SOUL JAPAN and not in any ambition to create soul sister into an independent magazine, I sort of wish they were but you know, you can never not trust it's not that, seeing as on the soul Japan website they advertise the recruiting of soul sister models and soul japan models together it may just be that.

I haven't been able to find anything stating that SOUL SISTER will become it's own magazine yet, but the soul JAPAN website states that SOUL JAPAN and SOUL SISTER will be returning next spring (this was stated in December) and with spring right around the corner while they're still in their second stage of recruiting models, i think it's best to wait and see what's gonna happen instead of getting everyone's hopes up, which is why I suddenly feel bad making this post because it honestly feels sort of click baity but 

Soul sister first published their first volume in 2011, the magazine then went on hiatus in 2013-2015 and published 1 final volume in 2015 (volume atop of me) until the magazine ceased publication.

Soul sister is the little sister magazine of soul japan, which is an ora ora magazine for men, while soul sister is for the girls and the gals. Soul sister tells stories of Japan's most ambitious sukeban gals, sharing fashion, hair make and nail advice, but also telling stories of their models, showing off other gangs and their vehicles, such as trucks, cars and of course, their sweet sweet motorbikes.

Some notable soul sister models include former EGG and early Black diamond member Mipochi, former Ageha model and host Hozunyam. DJ Tachibana Ayame, Sena, and many other models I may or may not be too lazy to remember by name.

If Soul sister did return as an independent magazine, and started physical publishing there's no doubt in my mind I would jump to order a volume, even if it costs an arm and a leg. Seeing more and more old gyaru magazine revive for Reiwa Gyaru era is so wonderful, I never thought we would ever see Reiwa Soul Sister at all, but I also wonder who the models would be, it's sort of rare to see sukeban gals in this day and age, maybe we will get to see some fresh faces, someone I'm particularly wishing to see would be former LOALO model Yuuramomo as a top model.

Now I feel like I should also say this so I don't look stupid, SOUL SISTER kinda has returned, just like as I said, together with soul Japan

I wanna finish this blogpost off by saying something that makes me sad and frustrated, and it's that I'm gonna have to put blogging on the back foot currently because I can't seem to upload images on any of my devices, not my laptop not even my phone which means I can't use reference images, nor can I even copy and paste off the internet, so until that gets fixed (somehow) I may not be able to do much blogging if any, sad face
