Magazine Discussion Episode 3 - SOUL SISTER!

 ใกใ‚ƒใŠใฃใ™ It's Spacy

Oh my god, when was the last time I sat down and wrote a full discussion blog entry ๐Ÿ˜‚, this is a december draft that has been dying in my drafts and I've been avoiding finishing but I thought it was time to clear this one out, so welcome to the long awaited third episode to this series, today we will be looking at the ultimate ora ora gal mag, SOUL SISTER!

SOUL SISTER is the mag for ora ora gals and sukebans (deliquents/ gang gals), often discussing things like bikes, sukeban gals showing off their cars, clothing, jewellery, nails, makeup, relationship forums, tattoos,parties/ clubs and their locations, manga, merchandise, sometimes mama gals also appear on the magazine and they also even show off other sukeban gal gangs! SOUL SISTER is a mag totally dedicated to the delinquent lifestyle!

The Magazine is a younger sister magazine to the men's delinquent magazine Soul Japan, which basically talks about the same topics, but in Soul sister, they talk about topics more oriented to female sukebans. Soul Sister is effectively the ultimate sukeban magazine.

One thing about Soul sister magazine I really love compared to other magazines is not the fashion, the nails, the parties, make or literally anything, but the individual stories of the models themselves. Each Model has a very unique story, so before i talk about my favourite models, I want to display the unique elements of soul sister models!

CBSmaman

CBSmaman's story starts In Gunma, in 1984 where she was born. When she was 14, her mother passed away, around the same time, she started to take an interest in motorcycles. When she turned 15, she started working in a Thai Pub, training to become a thai chef while hiding her identity as a gangsta. When she ws 20, she had her first child, at 21, deciding to become a single mother while working in a truck at a demolition shop, while still being a gangsta. However, when she was 22, she got into a car accident and the right side of her body was paralysed, thinking her life was over, she almost gave up, but decided to enter into rehab to treat her panic disorder. Later the next month, she met a man who she became an apprentice too, at the end of the year, he let her go and she opened her own shop!

Miyuki

Miyuki was born in Chikushino city in Fukuoka prefecture in 1984. When she was in Elementary school, she often picked fights with the boys, Miyuki also became the head of the brass band club in 1997 . She ended up forming a sukeban gal, fighting with other teams in Fukuoka. She started attending festivals all over japan, hanging out with biker gangs. In 1999, Miyuki ran away and started playing in the streets of Hakata In 2001, Miyuki got married, in the following year, when she was 17, she gave birth to her first daughter, but ended up divorcing her partner  few months later. Miyuki had been working in the construction industry since she was 15, but faced sexism from her male coworkers due to her workplace being male dominated, even being forced from her job simply for being  woman, but she stated that she was 'glad to be born a woman.' The year prior. Miyuki arrived in Tokyo, exclaiming she was going to be the 'best woman in Japan' depsite being homeless. At the time of this autobiography being written, she was living with her mother and daughter as the main breadwinner of the family. Miyuki stated she lived 90% of her live with spirit and will continue to do so!

Ka-tan (Do you recognise her!...)

Born in Chiba in 1984, Watanabe Kanae (yes THAT Watanabe Kanae) had always loved gyaru when she was growing up, after she saw a gyaru and thought 'wow thats cool!' She became gal in her first year of middleschool, and started modelling for egg in her second year of high school. She became a manba when she was 19. Doing Manba made her very confident, she even started 'When I was manba, I was the darkest girl in Shibuya, so I'm confident! Also i thought I was the cutest.' Recalling that time, she said she thought men were the worst, and even made little kids cry when she walked by, and said her being on the cover of egg was a great memory. She started driving trucks to help her parents heavy equipment shop. At first, she was pretty scared, as she was very timid, but enjoyed it as she got more into the business. In 2005, she also started modelling for Ageha and made her debut as a singer. In 2010,  Ka-tan started a clothing brand called 'COMPRE NDA.' She said she wanted to conquer the world with her fashionable clothing.

Also, if you're a bit new, this is Ka-tan:

Now, lets talk about my favourite 3 Soul Sister Models:
Ayame, Mipochi and Hozunyamu!

First is Ayame:

Tachibana Ayame

Ayame, born in Fukushima in November 1991 is probably the most unique gyaru model out there. With her short hair, sexy image and tough girl mindset, it's hard not to fall in love with her. Ayame also lived in America and india, until she moved back to japan to become a DJ and dancer/model. These days, ayame has tuned down her gyaru image but gals today still adore ayame for her unique image!

Mipochi
Sakamoto Miho

Mipochi is probably the most recognisable face here, as she modelled for egg and was even a member of Black Diamond! Mipochi is a textbook gyaru. For me personally, Mipochi is one of my favourite gals, and one of the most popular gals on the SOUL SISTER magazine. If you look through her social media even today, you can still see some of the gal in her!

Last Model: Hozunyamu

Hozunyamu
Hozumi Numajiri

Hozunyamu has probably the craziest gal backstory ive seen, if you want to read it, i wrote about it on my twitter  but Hozunyamu is definitely another popular model. A real sukeban gal but also gorgeously feminine, she also modelled for Koakuma Ageha and definitely has an.... interesting (messy) story but  you'd be lying if you pretended to not be hooked on her!

I'm going to leave my discussion here, there are many things you can say about soul sister as a magazine, but in my opinion, the best thing about this magazine is definitely the models and their stories. SOUL SISTER is for the wild gals, The stories you hear about these models is no joke!

Bye Bye -
